Israel Pre-invests 6.5 Billion Ils For New Photovoltaic Power Generation Projects

The Israeli Ministry of Energy announced a new energy and water infrastructure plan to help the country ’s economy recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.



The total investment of this program is 25 billion Israeli New Shekels (ILS), which is about 7.1 billion US dollars, of which 6.5 billion ILS will be used to fund the deployment of 2 GW of new photovoltaic power generation capacity nationwide. The government of the country will invest a national guarantee of 500 million ILS to support project development.


In addition, the Israeli government also stated that it will work to remove obstacles to promote rapid and efficient development, while improving the project's grid connection process.



The new plan also includes a re-tender for the previously canceled purchase of the Dimona solar power plant in the Negev desert.
