Recently, the photovoltaic power generation project of PetroChina International Business Hong Kong Company's Kam Tin Petrol Filling Station was officially put into operation, which is the first petrol filling station photovoltaic power generation project implemented by PetroChina in Hong Kong. Since the trial operation in early April, the petrol filling station has achieved photovoltaic power generation of a total of about 3 megawatt-hours, which is equivalent to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of nearly 2 tonnes, and has achieved gratifying results. This will make a positive contribution to the implementation of PetroChina's green and low-carbon development strategy and support the implementation of Hong Kong's "Green Future Plan".
In recent years, the Hong Kong government attaches great importance to the development of clean energy, and has joined hands with the local power companies to launch a "feed-in tariff" programme, under which the power companies will purchase green electricity produced by renewable energy sources, such as solar energy or wind energy, to provide services for the public power grid. The Hong Kong Company responded positively to the government's call to apply for participation in the "feed-in tariff" scheme and passed the approval process. At the same time, the Company carried out solid field research and analysis, and finally selected the Kam Tin Petrol Filling Station, which occupies a large area and has good lighting conditions, as the first pilot project for photovoltaic operation. The company set up a solar power generation system with an installed capacity of about 18 kW on the roof of the convenience store and automobile maintenance room of the gas station, and efficiently promoted the implementation of the project and smooth operation.
In the next step, the Hong Kong company will take this project as an opportunity to continue to promote the development of new industries, and strive to build PetroChina's overseas green and low-carbon demonstration base, to implement the responsibility of the energy central enterprises in Hong Kong, and to contribute to the construction of a beautiful China and a harmonious Hong Kong.
