Recently, the Maldives released a tender announcement for a 20MW PV project. The tender is supported by ADB, the Asian Development Bank, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance of the Maldives, and the owner is the Ministry of Environment, Climate Science and Technology of the Maldives.
The project is part of the Maldives ASSURE (Accelerating Sustainable System Development Using Renewable Energy) programme, which will invest in 20MW of PV on 20 islands, the largest PV project in the Maldives, involving land-based PV, rooftop PV, marine PV and floating PV. The project is the world's first multi-modal hybrid PV tender.
