Spanish developer Fotowatio Renewable Ventures has been granted a preliminary environmental permit to develop a 327MW solar PV plant in Brazil.
The project, located in the state of Ceará in the north-eastern region of the country, marks the first time the developer has implemented the project since its return to Brazil. The commissioning of the project will facilitate the use of local contractors and suppliers during the construction phase, resulting in the creation of some 306 jobs.

The Madrid-based developer was one of two companies to win 651GWh of solar PV and wind power in Chile's latest renewable energy auction in 2022, bringing its renewable energy pipeline developed and built in Chile to 2.5GW. the company also acquired a majority stake in a 600MW portfolio of battery storage systems in Greece earlier this month.
