That has been the case this week with Woodford Investment Management, which has suffered two devastating blows. The first occurred when the firm suspended trading in its flagship Equity Income fund, locking in investors’ money. The second came when St James’s Place, a wealth management group, announced that it was replacing Woodford as the manager of some £3.5bn worth of assets.
